Both ended up dead. By Mark Maurer/The Star-Ledger Hank's discovery of Gus Fring's fingerprint in Gale Boetticher's apartment is enough for DEA and Albuquerque PD to bring Gus in for an interview.

In response, one of the cartel's men killed Gus' friend and they told him to "stick to chicken."

Breaking Bad S4, E8 Hermanos Skyler develops an unusual solution to her money troubles. It seemed intentional that he was shown again in the opening flashback, telling the cousins, “Burn in hell!” Could it be that Gus warned Gomez about the cousins, and he was the one who tipped off Hank?

Hank enlists Walt to investigate a theory. Right when Tuco was about to go crazy on Walt and Jesse, he turned around and beat his own henchman to death.

Ironically, the DEA agents who are looking to bring Gus down are currently saving his life. As soon as we saw Don Eladio asking why he should let Gus live, we started to worry for Gus’s loyal chemist, Max Arciniega. And you'll never see this message again. Hank and Walt are also brothers of a sort, ones who look nothing alike (save for their bald heads). Any sway he previously had over Jesse is now gone—Walt tries to head over to Jesse’s place to get him to try to murder Gus, and Jesse flicks him away. The City of the Future (A Cidade do Futuro). On March 8, All Becomes Crystal Clear.
That’s the question most often pondered by cancer survivors on television, the point being that if doctors told you that you were going to die tomorrow, you’d concentrate more on the important stuff: spending time with your family and friends, worrying less about work, and generally crazy-sexy-cancer-ing it up, if we’re to believe shows like The Big C. It’s just like Saul Goodman tells Andrea’s son in this week’s episode: “Carpe diem, okay?”. The death of his “ermano” led to the creation of Gus as we know him – controlled, ruthless, clinical. But lately, each episode seems to remind us that Walt’s sick. All rights reserved.

Hank isn't so sure. The only time we’ve only seen Gus start to lose his vice-like grip on proceedings is, in fact, earlier in the episode, after receiving an interrogation from Hank and the DEA higher-ups. Slate relies on advertising to support our journalism.

With that kind of legacy, the poor guy was never meant to last very long. Also, after comparing his show to Scarface many times in interviews, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan finally gets to wink at that reference by casting that film’s Steven Bauer as Don Eladio. © 2020 TV Fanatic

We may never know.” But we do know. Both Gale and Max were recipients of the scholarship that Gus created for chemists. Walt likes to believe that Heisenberg’s pulling the DEA’s strings, but when it comes down to just the two of them, sitting in a Los Pollos parking lot, Walt is at his brother-in-law’s beck and call, forced to plant a tracking device on his own boss’s car.

Is Hank breaking bad as well?) And then there’s Hank.

The network shows have more time to fill, but contradictorily, due to advertising and executive restraints, they can’t spend as much time (in theory) on long scenes of character development, so shows like Lost,  The X-Files, Fringe and Buffy rely on an elaborate, comic-book like mythology, often centred around a central mystery in order to intrigue viewers.

“An accident, perhaps?” Gus suggests, nearly smiling. Get the best of Den of Geek delivered right to your inbox! Hermanos. Both techniques are effective at getting you hooked, but it’s arguably rare for a show to marry quality with a truly dense and exciting mythology, and if it has, it’s certainly never been done with the same degree of effectiveness as in Breaking Bad. In “Bullet Points,” Skyler tells Walt that they should play up his cancer to make Hank and Marie feel more sympathetic about his so-called gambling addiction.

Quite possibly. (season 2) Breaking Bad is an American crime drama television series created and produced by Vince Gilligan.

Both got involved with meth. A pink stuffed toy was found in the pool back then, and this season, it keeps coming back: Skyler found it rolling around Walt’s drawer, and baby Holly was dressed like that fuzzy pink thing in “Cornered.” Will the plane crash soon come back to haunt Walt, possibly endangering his family in the same way Gus’s hermano Max went down? Take the lecture that Walt delivers to a fellow cancer patient at the hospital. And it seems Hank’s going to be on him for a while. Is it possible that Gomez might be a mole who’s being paid off by Gus? Things are permanently on the cusp of erupting into violence, as we saw in the Gus flashback, and things can never be the same afterwards.

Watch Breaking Bad Season 4, Episode 8 - Hermanos. Playing out entirely in Spanish, the scene was unbearably tense, partly due to the early tease of the blood-tainted swimming pool, partly due to the lingering presence of the truly repulsive Hector, and partly due to the unnerving sight of Gus as we’ve rarely seen him before – subservient, unsettled, out of control, and even out of his depth. Hank asks Walt to drive him to the laundry where the meth lab is hidden. No wonder the cartel’s old leader, Don Eladio, tells Gus during the bloody swimming pool flashback, “The only reason you’re alive and [your partner] is dead is that I know who you are.”, Speaking of that flashback, if there’s one thing that Breaking Bad has taught us, it’s that any time a character looks like he’s going to get killed, you should start praying for the guy who’s sitting next to him.

Elsewhere, we got major background into Gus.

Gus realizes how close he's come to being caught and in flashbacks, his entry into a world of crime and his work with the Mexican drug cartel is revealed. Gus knows this, as evidenced by his stony face and almost imperceptible hand twitching in the lift post-interview.

Knowing that time is ticking doesn’t give these characters a new lease on life.

Don't have an account? Until then, who’s in charge? tunefind During a pre-credits flashback sequence that takes place right after the deaths of Leonel and Marco Salamanca and Juan Bolsa, Gus Fring meets with Hector Salamanca and hints that he orchestrated their deaths out of revenge, phrasing "blood for blood", which then seems to infuriate the immobile Hector. He’s answered every query smoothly and skillfully, but Gus can tell that Hank doesn’t trust him.

“We have a mutual interest in resolving this without violence,” he says. A young, handsome man is also getting a check-up, and he goes on and on about his own cancer, to Walt’s annoyance. Gus, for example. (Fun fact: the character Maximillian Arciniega is named after the actor who played Krazy-8, the guy who ended up dead in Breaking Bad‘s third episode. Gus is going down in an elevator in the DEA building—he’s just been questioned by Hank and his coworkers about where he was the night of Gale’s death. In “Cornered,” Walt takes a shower in one scene, revealing the scar from his experimental cancer surgery. “He’s the most loyal man I’ve ever met,” says Max of the Los Pollos boss.

When Marie tells Skyler, “You’ve really taken to this being your own boss thing!” it’s clear that Walt’s only the second-in-command over there. He finally says, of his illness, “You can’t control everything,” and Walt explodes. But, as Walt’s quickly learning, there are some things in life that you can’t control. Boss is busy.”—was the understatement of the year.) .cls-2{mix-blend-mode:screen}.cls-3{fill:none;stroke:red;stroke-miterlimit:10;stroke-width:4px}.cls-4{fill:red}, Could this be the finest episode of Breaking Bad so far? Also, both were fiercely loyal to Gus.

And be our Facebook chum here. Hank’s certainly got Gus pegged as his man, and enlists an unsuspecting Walt to help him plant a tracking device on Gus’ car (in a nicely subtle payoff to one this season’s running gags, when Walt asks about the mineral fair, Hank counters with “We ain’t going to no goddamn rock show.”). And judging by the way Walt treated that Dodge Challenger, he’s not going down without setting everything on fire.

Walt’s not even in charge of the car wash anymore. Considering that Walt believes a man is a measure of his choices, not just his motives, it would be fitting if what ultimately stopped Heisenberg wasn’t Gus or Hank but cancer itself, the one thing that would render all his choices moot. The Fring brothers were trying to be honest salesmen, attempting to go into business with the local kingpin instead of selling meth behind his back. That was certainly the case for Max. Walter White descends into the criminal underworld. (When Gus asks “Is today the day, Hector?” he’s warning him: If you do this today, you’ll get caught.) Lost span a whole series out of this technique – hell, even Heroes managed to come up with a good episode in Company Man in its first season. Updated September 05, 2011 at 06:00 AM EDT. NEXT: What does this Swimming Pool of Death suggest about Walt’s future? Mike conducted research, though, and passed along to Gus that Hank was working on his own and had no real evidence. The fourth season of the American television drama series Breaking Bad premiered on July 17, 2011 and concluded on October 9, 2011. ). After killing Max, Don Eladio and Hector tell Gus: “Look at him, you did this to him.” Gus later tells Hector, “Look at me.” It reminds us of a scene from a while back, where Gus told Jesse, “Don’t look at [Walt], look at me.” Being watched has been a big theme this season, mostly for Walt, who can’t escape the cameras in the lab. and the Terms and Policies,
