It really sounds awesome with my new PRS SE 245 Standard! And with the ability to switch between 1, 5, and 20 watts, you can't go wrong! Crunch channel sounds awesome too and the presence and resonance controls really help add to sculpting the tone with either channel. I get the perfect modern metal tone going into a closed-back Mesa 2x12" (V30's) with a noise gate and OD in front for boost. Peavey took their shrinking machine out and completely captured the 6505 into. All in all, the 6505MH is a very versatile amp at a very affordable price.
Grabbed this and the 112 cab combo after trying it out at my local box store. Only rated it 4.5 because the gain, of which there is plenty, was a bit much stock.
The Peavey 6505 MH is a bargain with regard to the quality you’ll likely receive for the money you spend. Just got the amp a few days ago and I couldnt be happier. This thing is insanely awesome at all volumes. You can dial in just a little bit to add a little air to your leads, or crank it and get some really spacious, ambient sounds. Highly recommend.
