Well here's mine: I attended my first event ever at The Cotton Room last night. The space is absolutely beautiful!Edited to add: I also received a brochure that said that the per person rate includes tax and gratuity. Ask the Yelp community! The cotton room is a really cool venue. The band sounded great but when they made announcements about the auction or stuff happening, no one could understand what was being said. Exposed brick, ceiling to floor windows and timeless architecture are only a few of the attributes that make The Cotton Room one of the most sought after NC wedding venues in Durham. We are incredibly sorry that this happened. The internet was apparently down in the building so check-in took a long time (it was a fundraising gala that had an auction so you had to check in and get set up with payments, etc.). The event was 7-11. There aren't enough food, service, value or atmosphere ratings for The Cotton Room, North Carolina yet. Just to follow up, it was under your company's instruction that once the presentation started we were not allowed to pour anymore tea for the guests for the duration of the event as not to distract from the presentation <3Thank you for spending your evening with us at The Cotton Room and we certainly hope to see you all again in the future! If I were to guess, using them for a wedding is probably at the top tier high end for the research triangle area. Third, while talking with someone between the tables right after the breakfast ended, a banquet staff member said to continue talking in the lobby as they were cleaning up!

Especially when I've scaled my guest list back JUST to be able to use this space because I fell in love with the space. Came here on a Friday night with my date for a wedding. I can't begin really planning anything for this wedding (which I was trying to get a large head start on) until I book a a venue. When you walk inside, you have to take the elevator up to the Cotton Room. I am planning my wedding and looking for full service event spaces in town. It was an event meant to reunite the people who used to enjoy a very popular gay bar in downtown Durham called The Power Company (AKA 42nd Street when it first opened). The natural light from the floor to ceiling windows open up the intimate venue. The space is inviting and beautiful, irrespective of the time of day. Comfortable seating in this second-floor, loft-type bar. The wood planks and floor gave for a nice elegant yet barn house feel to the facility. The acoustics seemed really good.This is one of the historic tobacco warehouse spaces Durham is famous for. There were some nice seating areas, tall tables near the dance floor so you could sit your cocktail down while you watched the show or got out there and danced, a rope swing near the entrance for some fun photo-ops, and two cash bars. First of all, the elevator was out of order the entire time! I was fortunate enough to attend Downtown Durham Inc.'s annual meeting held at The Cotton Room at Golden Belt. We absolutely loved hosting The Power Company Reunion at our space and were so thrilled to spend our time helping to create the event of their dreams. And, with the current health crisis, people are longing for experiences -- a feeling of "getting away" -- yet, they can't safely travel.
Needless to say, I was not keen on even returning to meet with them, but we did. Last Thursday I attended a breakfast at The Cotton Room. The Cotton Room is a really cool venue, though I was thrown off at first. One station had crab dip that was quickly eaten (it was delicious!) The restrooms were right there in the event space. They had a endless mimosa bar with traditional, mango and blackberry mimosa's. If you are considering holding an event or wedding there, ask them about WTF happened at the gala on October 26, 2019 and how they can be sure it won't happen to your event. Came here for my work place president's award ceremony. From Ceremony to Reception, The Cotton Room in Durham, NC is a Versatile Wedding Venue In the blink of an eye, wedding guests were wowed by The Cotton Room’s transformation from ceremony to reception space. Decorations, lighting and linen curtains kept it rromantic and exciting. The location at Golden Belt is easy to find and parking was plentiful.It's a great space for a great time! We pride ourselves on our ever-rotating, truly inspired craft cocktail menu. Overall, my experience here was very positive. Our friends and family also loved the venue and commented on the beauty of the space. It makes me sad that I have to even consider another venue after finding what I thought was my dream venue because the staff can't send an email or follow up call.
Finally, I would give a 5 star score on the dessert as there was a variety of choices to choose from.
