Can those who have activated successfully share their experiences and confirm the best way to guarantee a fool-proof activation process? Worked great, no issues! Note: I haven't gone to the theater and actually finished the process yet. :). This was just what I have found while attempting to activate my card. I sent an email a while ago to them about a different issue and I still haven't gotten more than an auto response. Although I had to type them in twice and I think I had to log in again and it didn't show anything (no numbers or *'s) in the text input area just the cursor moving through blank spaces, it did work and checked me in. You wizard, this is totally why I’m here right now! We activated as jewoods described, then waited 1 day. Your directions were clear. Otherwise people were saying it didn't actually activate although it said it was ready. We went to the theatre yesterday. Then it shows the card # and will probably say "processing". When I got to the theater, I hit the check in button and it asked me to input those digits into the app.

I didn't have to officially "check in" to the movie, but its the button you press to get the prompt. This MP service is awesome, but their app and registration process are to suck. After spending a lot of frustrating time searching for answers I think I have the activation process figured out. I just got my card today (Oct 20) and was able to activate from my house. Technically the card is already active if you can see it in the app but your subscription timing activates automatically when you check in on the app for the first time.
I was able to briefly see that on the app a few minutes ago. No need to activate or anything. Nothing on their website did anything, its all on the app. Thanks for the post!
Thank you! I had the last 4 digits in the app a couple days before I got the card in the mail. I've got a feeling that tomorrow's gonna be the day my card comes...I just know it! I'm going to the movies again today. In case anyone wants to know, I just today (10/10) got my Movie Pass card. The reason I ask this is that in the slickdeals forum a few days ago, they were sharing a specific URL you had to load and apparently (though it was debated heavily) use Internet Explorer in order to activate your card properly. I tried to contact them via the app and no response. I used my Moviepass for the first time yesterday. Simply go to the activation page using the button below and enter the card number and PIN, to activate the card. When I went to check in on the app, it said to enter the last 4 digits. Once submitted, the gift card will be activated and ready for use within 24hrs. Now when I check my "MoviePass Card" under "Profile" on the app it changed from "Card Processing" to my card number. It sounded...overly convoluted, so I was wondering if that was even necessary.
My card kept getting declined. The app will have this final step "Check In" screen but will ask for the last 4 digits of your Movie Pass card. In order to gain points, the card must be presented at the time of purchase to the staff member, It is the responsibility of the member to keep their account information up to date (email address, contact number, address). Hopefully it works otherwise I will end up doing the same thing. When you activated it is it set as a monthly subscription or does the month start when you activate your card? Notice in the left side menu you can choose "MoviePass Cards". This worked for me! Need to check how much you've got on The Movie Card?
